Does anyone else dislike the sentence 'Quietly, some geeks are decentralizing the net again'?


I don't dislike it. I think that what's intended is that instead of just orating (loudly) about the sorry state of affairs, as any of us can do, these people actually walk the walk and go out of their way to make things better. Quietly, by hacking away at great projects, and not by occupying capitol hill or something.

But for some people 'quietly' hints at 'sneaky'.


Also, it's a third party site interviewing geeks about what they're doing, so 'Quietly' might not be the correct word.

That aside, the site is a good idea and covering projects of this nature is important.


Yep - the idea was that it isn't generally known about. There's lots of interesting stuff going on that we wanted to highlight - hence the site!


Yea, seems like it would sound a little menacing if you didn't know what it meant...
