It's hard to call this "science" as we can never really get a control group going as that's politically feasible.

Really? That seems to be a lose-lose proposition to me.

Obama is a politician. Revenue is one of many tools, not a goal.

To be fair, the amount of revenue "lost" by these increases is dwarfed by the "stimulus".
