The TV show one is good, I have a few movies I've seen dozens of times and can reite the script for potentially so watching them du bed and unsubbed in my target language taught me, atthe very least, how to say the most quotable lines or repetitive phrases after a single viewing (I did add custom Flash cards after)
- Do a German class: the biggest step up starting from nothing. If nothing else, listening to German 2-3 hours/week will help you
- http://germanforenglishspeakers.com/ for reference: essential grammar concepts
- Reading a book / watching a TV show in German: something you already know, so you won't get discouraged by lack of understanding
- Duolingo: just to have that 5-10 minutes every day. It won't get you to fluency, but it's a low-impact tool
