Affects Big Sur (released November 2020) and previous.

Very little compassion for these users (but at the same time glad somome did resolve this, hopefully without penalizing responsible good users much).

Perhaps one of the best most liberating things in the tech world has been that web browsers now tend towards evergreen distribution models (or sometimes ESR releases). The downside has been miniscule, basically non-existent.

This thing where old software forever eats away at those trying's time & energy has been out of control. Futility & hopelessness of trying to do good things was abound! It took such a long era of software being intransigent & never moving & forever stuck for the OS & browser makers to get fed up & rebuild the distribution model, to stop catering to never-updaters. What a dark era, so glad legacy concerns are so vastly done away with as the web platform at least (if not native) is free to keep pushing forwards. We cut ourselves free of the persistent miserable boat anchors, and are better & ever improving for it!
