How do you know you are past the smoke point? Doesn't cooking always produce some smoke?


No cooking produces steam. Unless you’re intentionally burning your food there shouldn’t be a ton of smoke


How do you tell steam and smoke apart?


Smoke has a distinctive smell, and steam is damp. Both have a distinctive appearance.
