Festo is developing a new biologically inspired device/bionic animal for the Hannover Messe (a renowned trade fair in Hanover, Germany) for many years now. Searching YouTube/the web for Festo and bionic will return a lot of amazing results.

It uses a pretty interesting/unique mechanical system for flight control. Neat!
