France bans English gaming tech jargon in push to preserve language purity (theguardian.com)

Language purity is a bug not a feature. For all of its fault English is wonderful salad bowl of multiculturalism. Concepts intermingle internationally in this tongue with wild promiscuity. It's similar to the controversy around interracial marriage with France enforcing a kind of linguistic miscegenation ban.

Twas ever thus. English has succeeded by definitely not having an Académie Anglais.

This article is from 2022.

"Government officials must replace words such as ‘e-sports’ and ‘streaming’ with approved French versions."

So, no. France didn't "ban" anglicisms.

A streamer may not be a gamer.

They have to remove 1 word and keep only "animateur en direct".

There are at least 4 times 20 and 19 reasons why this won't work.
