I spent the first 15 years of my career building game engines for a living. During that period I've done it all, from streaming, networking, game object models, shaders, simluations, .. you name it. It left me with a knack for good design, optimization, parallel programming, and cpu / memory-awareness. My claim to fame is single-handedly building the game NinJump on iOS / Android back in the early days of mobile gaming. It had over 150 million downloads and hit #1 on iOS.
Several years ago I transitioned to distributed computing, focusing on horizontal scalability. The past few years I've been working mostly in AWS, Golang, and Kubernetes. I've enjoyed the challenge of this transition. I didn't list all my engine cred above as I'm more focused on backend work these days.
Finally, I'm a huge proponent of Rust. I rarely get attached to technology but working in Rust is just a joy. I'm always on the lookout for kickass Rust gigs, especially when they're not crypto-facing.
Just freed up and fielding calls with folks. Cool opportunities welcome! :)
