For me personally, Facebook is having a resurgence.
I don't really pay attention to the feed, but I've found a lot of great local community groups on it. Buy nothing boards, local parenting groups, local gardening groups, book clubs etc.
There is demand for non-anonymous local community building tools. Meetup maybe used to do that, but it doesn't seem as appealing anymore. Nextdoor is a cesspool.
If Facebook doubled down on local community and personal connections I think it could have a wide resurgence. But I'm sure that is less profitable than what is has become.
