Ask HN: Is there a more analog alternative to LCD writing tablets?

I'm trying to replace disposable paper notes with something that is simpler and more convenient. There are many lightweight LCD writing tablets like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Boogie-Board-8-5-Inch-Writing-PT01085CYAA0002/dp/B00AFPR68E/

But it looks like those are an LCD display with a touch sensor on top. I was looking for something with near-zero input lag and no visible pixels (like actual paper), like a more sophisticated version of a kids magnetic whiteboard.

Have a look at Remarkable 2. It isn't cheap but I think it's the closest to what you're looking for. There are some Chinese alternatives based on Android also with an e-paper display, but I think Remarkable 2 is better.

I was looking for something more low-tech, like a modern version of the ancient clay tablets, but thanks for sharing! It looks really like paper, remarkable indeed.
