"either fix it now, or be OK with it never being fixed" - this is in fact the decision that is being made, but saying "later" allows everyone to pretend that it isn't, and do what's actually the right thing (accept "good enough" as good enough) instead of letting perfectionism demand that a perfect solution must take priority over everything else.
