There's a saying in Hebrew that goes something like: "There's nothing more permanent than the temporary". Every single large code base that I've ever worked had an endless number of TODO and FIXME comments.

But I'm with you. If you think what you're doing is ok, don't leave a FIXME comment or plan on it getting fixed down the road. If it's not ok, just don't do it please ;)
