As the alternative is to recruit thousands of very competent people for sometimes a few hours a month, it is even less realistic.
There is perhaps an opportunity for a YC startup to "disrupt" this market? What about instead of having multiple hospitals loosely cooperating, making patients to travel to a unique efficient clinical trial center?
Even patients can benefit from it, Internet forums are full of patients complaining of having been mistreated during a clinical trial (having to pay, having to organize the trip themselves even when with a disability, waiting for hours on a chair, waiting in a cold hallway, being asked stupid questions by someone who is obviously not interested in the task)
