I like the idea of combining this with the recent ideas around semi-automatically distributing funds to dependencies.

So these all seem like core dependencies and sure, you can just have a human being decide what is a core dependency, but if we could automate that in a way that lets new core dependencies slowly develop and attract funding and investment, that would be cool.
