The start ups started in and around the last recession have all matured or gone away. As we enter a possible recession what do you think will form the core of the next cycle?
We're entering a depression. It's a completely different beast then most people in first-world countries know or have ever experienced.
I think we'll see a dearth of startups for a while but at some point we'll get some really interesting innovation. The good economic environment in the past decades has actually been quite toxic for serious technology-driven startups; all the talent is off making "Facebook but for Uber."
