I do not think you understood my point. That or you don’t appear to know what an ad hominem is. Here, take this scenario. A group of people come to me holding a paper that is white and has black writing on it. These people show me the paper and say “Behold, this is a black paper with white writing on it“. I look at that paper, clearly see they are saying a lie, so I dismiss them and avoid them. I do not wish to associate with liars. The same people come to me after and they say “the vaccine is safe, effective and necessary”. Based on my previous experience with them, I am highly skeptical of this claim. Could they be saying the truth this time? Of course. Should I be inclined to believe them seeing as they lied previously? I suppose that is for each person to decide. I am personally not inclined to believe people who lied to me previously. This was my point. I find it very hard to trust people who lie to me. Here, let me give you an example of what an ad hominem looks like. “You have a throwaway account, therefore your argument is invalid “.
