My post (and your parent post) was about the comment section, which is not real-time. You can’t comment under a live event, only in its recording after the event has finished. The live chat section (appearing next to the video in the desktop web UI, not under) is what’s going real-time.

Ah yes, sorry about that. Had a brain fart moment. I actually meant the chat section on the right was disabled during the live conference.

Though, after any ordinary live stream has ended the chats usually are retained as chat history or comments if you will.
