Yeah, you're right, that is somewhat dubious... Didn't know that when I posted the link, actually. (Or if I had known at some time, I'd forgotten by now.)

But still, that doesn't stop him from being right. What are these "well defined descriptors" you're talking about -- and are they any better than his?



SAE Classifications, level 5 etc.

Alternatively, give Mr. Roy and his company credence by embedding his name - at his request - into the way we discuss autonomy. Should we expect people to understand what Roy's rule is?


Not sure if those "levels" were what the GGP, whom I was asking, meant. If they were, then no, they don't seem all that cut-and-dried and unambiguous to me: IIRC, there's controversy about them on this very comment page.
