Show HN: VidEarth lets you click dots on the globe to see footage from that spot (virtualvacation.us)

I nearly missed the videos, I was thinking streetmap, which is another maybe slightly cruder way to be a virtual tourist. So I thought it was stills, even though you did say footage which does mean video.

Love it.

Might I suggest (unless cache matters or something) that you start the viewer at a random time during the video? (and cycle/repeat) I really like to dip in and out and would like to be able to come back and see slightly different footage rather than have to see from the beginning always. Thanks again!

Hey HN.

I really wanted to share this with you guys as this was just released on May 27th. VidEarth is a platform that lets you navigate a map with hundreds of dots you can click on each one of them and view footage from the exact place.

Heres a video from San Francisco: virtualvacation.us/videarth?788
