Not surprisingly, most of the 11 are Democrats. Not surprisingly, the Republicans all hold anti-scientific positions on vaccinations and global warming. Given Republican control of the Senate with their medieval positions on science, not a lot of progress can be made but at least some sanity will hold in House.

Is it worthwhile to note that most of them are democrats? It seems to me that at least that is an important point if one party has a strong affinity for scientific disciplines as opposed to the other. Further discussion may have been unnecessary, but it seems to me that this insurgence of scientifically trained representatives is a reaction to a government decreasingly interested in valid science, which would make the point relevant to the discussion at hand.
Perhaps it’s more an issue of how it was stated (aggressively) than the core idea?
