Granted the PC is not very powerful (CPU: AMD E-350), but the story is true. When the update started, I thought 'Shit that thing didn't just reboot itself. Okay here we are, that will take one hour max.'. But in fact, it took about 4 hours.

I have a Thinkpad x140e. It's unusable with Windows 10, but reasonably good enough with Ubuntu MATE.

I don't doubt you at all. This laptop took up took so long to boot with Windows that I'd take the time to make coffee.
