And also the most unerasable, and hence traceable, system. You can't delete records from a blockchain.

Seeing bureaucracy explode like with the last diagram is rarely a good sign. As if I needed even more reasons to not "upgrade" to macOS 26.

Oh no my app bundle has more folders in it what else will macOS Tahoe do to my computer

Since those app bundle folders are merely the symptoms, this question isn't that unreasonable.

Nope, it is. This is a shallow question with no understanding behind why the additional folders were added, which was to bring a lot of functionality that used to litter your entire computer into a place where it is tied to the app that installed it. So the complaint is like looking at a trash can in the park and going “ew this garbage is ugly the park is going downhill” when the reality before that can existed was people threw the litter all over the park.

How long before CSS can run Doom?

SOF?

Special Operations Forces.

Is that the same as "All downdetectors are down"?

People confused by this reference can read https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turtles_all_the_way_down

no, it's some turtle-ish dialect

I always wondered who detects when downdetector.com is down.

    Each downed page diminishes me,
for I am involved in WANkind.
    Therefore, ping not to know
    for whom the downdetector detects,
    it detects for thee.

> I don't have any "social media" accounts.

You do have an HN account. And it's public! Just don't get caught giving a shit about facts.

Forming your own opinion is so last-year. Now we have social media and AI to automate this.

I can form my own opinion on things I know about. If I don't, then it's natural that I will defer to those who I believe know better.

Learning without thinking is useless but thinking without learning is dangerous.

@grok is this true?

I keep seeing this post on HN. Does this trigger some grok workflow only for the user or is it a joke?

It works on Twitter, but not here on HN. It's a joke akin to commenting "Press X to doubt".

It's a joke.

@ doesn't do anything on HN.

They don't give a shit about their users, but their own salespeople are worthy of this morsel of mercy.

Those same standards also risk US lives, but apparently it's OK to risk random strangers' lives for your own profit there.
