Continuing to work on my indie app https://textsniper.app

Continuing working on my project - TextSniper https://textsniper.app/ macOS application for text recognition

nice! I've been looking in to how people are doing OCR in 2024. Is TextSniper scriptable?

It’s not. Not that many users were asking for it. But I think it is another feature to consider implementing.

I am still working on https://textsniper.app

Wanted to say this is a very cool app. I use it all the time to capture information from images. Nice to meet you!

Thank you so much for the kind words about TextSniper! I'm really glad to hear you find it useful and use it frequently. It's always rewarding to know the app is helping people in their day-to-day work.

Thank you for kind feedback and great suggestion. And the easiest way to implement it would be as you wrote prior to capture, before text is sent to clipboard. Will definitely bring it in my future updates. Thanks

How many times did you have to pause the video to retype the link, song title, or any other text studying some tutorial? How cool it would be to have an option to grab any non-copyable text from the screen in a matter of seconds. This question I asked my self and as an answer to it, I have built TextSniper. The extremely convenient tool to capture any text from your screen. I would appreciate any feedback.

Hi HN,

The idea to build TextSniper was born from my personal, trivial use-case. I was watching a YouTube video tutorial and on the video was a link I needed to paste into Terminal application. The link was quite long and the only option was to retype it. Then I thought, would not be great, if I just could draw a selection around this link on the video and turn it to typed text and then easily paste anywhere I need. No mistyping and the job is done in seconds.
