They do add a lot of extra privacy protections, which includes disabling some of the engine functionality. And btw many of the bad Google stuff is in chrome, but not in chromium. So having chromium is not necessarily that bad by itself. Brave is also chromium under the hood.
Thank you so much for doing this. People need to recognize that one of the main reasons Russians support this is because they REALLY have heard nothing else than Putin's propaganda, given that ALL free media is practically destroyed in the past decade. This information "vacuum" is hard to imagine if you live in a democratic country.
As someone who does live in a democratic country (Italy), I confirm.
Only because of the recent events I've actually realized how bad the situation is, when it comes to freedom of expression, in Russia (it also got worse).
Having enough freedom of speech to complain I don't have enough freedom of speech (which I often do) is a pretty high threshold, unfortunately, compared to some countries.
