Support cost doesn't mean customer support.

Original version of this story had the end line cut off (https://twitter.com/gruber/status/453598509191929856). If this was an app, it would either have been rejected (for iOS) or need an update. Gruber didn't need to ask anyone for permission to fix it or having everyone download an update. He just fixed it, the one canonical version that everyone will see going forward. That is why I don't want to rethink what we mean by mobile web.

Seems like a fair tradeoff to trade actually owning 8 songs a month for access to millions of songs to me (obviously this is a matter of personal taste). Spotify seems more fair to me than iTunes when it comes to the actual model of the business. With Spotify, the artist is paid according to how much I listen to it, so a song I play constantly is rewarded more than a song that I listen to once or twice. With iTunes, these songs would be rewarded equally. The actual money seen by the artist may tilt towards iTunes currently, but that could just be inertia as the music industry is changing.

Title is just incorrect: She isn't leaving. She is only "maybe" turning off comments and moving discussion to Reddit.

Reddit? No hateful comments there then ...

Guess at least you can have moderators.

Sounds like Reddit need to add a video distribution system, it would be quite a thing to pick top vloggers and add them in to the current mix.

I wonder where Vi Hart stands WRT her content. Can she remove it from YouTube. Could she remove it via a copyright infringement claim?

Sub-reddits are like irc channels or usenet newsgroups, they can have owners and be moderated to whatever degree those owners desire. Some sub-reddits are very tightly moderated.

Or Reddit needs to focus on providing a good API and Disqus-like embedding so they can provide Reddit-as-a-service for other websites. Right now sites can throw a skin on a reddit community and wrap it in a domain-name, but it's not really set up for embedding.

How is that frightening? Knowing the proper situation to use a firearm is obviously paramount, but I'd rather cops also be accurate after the decision to use a gun is made.

We do know they are the ringleader as they own 58% of Rockstar.
