How long before we get pay per browse and the internet is 6ft under?

A week. I'm constantly getting cloudflare nonsense that thinks I'm a bot. (Boring firefox + ublock setup.) I wouldn't be surprised if I start seeing a screen trying to get me to pay.

If so, I'll do what I currently do when asked to do a recaptcha, I fuck off and take my business elsewhere.

Are you behind a CGNAT?

Not that I know of.

Honestly preferable to the insane amounts of paywalls and advertising

That won't end ads.

Just like paid cable subscriptions didn't end TV ads. Or how ads are slowly creeping into the various streaming platforms with "ad supported tiers".

This is a paywall.

I'd rather pay 5c for one article than subscribe for $10/yr to view one article. Still a paywall, but less annoying.

Who even wants to work with a person nicknamed Scam? Goes to show you the brain consciousness the rest of the employees at OpenAI have.

Well that's why anyone who is anyone at OpenAI has left already

Plenty of non-public workers are still at the company. They're holding out for a big payout.

Disgruntled are the Crowdstrike customers that had to deal with the outage. These employees have a lot of reputation to lose for coming forward. Crowstrike is a disgrace of a company and many others like it are doing the same behaviors but they just haven't gotten caught yet. Software development has become a disgrace when the bottom line of squeezing margins to please investors took over.

> These employees have a lot of reputation to lose for coming forward.

Employees don't typically have much reputation to ruin. I am perfectly content putting this on their shoulders.

Can we just push LLMs aside for a minute and look at the whole AI models from outside the box? The feeling I'm getting is that the obsession with LLMs has outpaced its usefulness.

My very first Multimodal AI star on Github. Hope we see more of these in the future.

Is this GPU thing some kind of magic?

We have like 12 different types of it in the wild. I think it's time we came up with a 1 or 2 GPU HW standards similar to how we have for CPUs.

Hi Jeff,

How does Exa's search product compete with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perplexity.ai?

Zune inspired?

OMG!!! Why isn't that wheel covered with a guard at the top?

We're missing the elephant in the room. Who's going to maintain the code?

You think GPT5 and Llama4 aren't going to be opinionated and change your code going forward.
