Do you have any plans for scripting?

Java as a Programming Language? I don't think it's dying anytime soon.

Java as a Runtime Platform? I don't think it's dying anytime soon either.

JAVA might be a little bit old (in terms of technology) but more modern languages has a lot to do to catch up in:

* Multiple Relational DB support (I am still need to see good support for Python or NodeJS for databases like SYBASE, INGRES, others)

* Library ecosystem (there is a library for almost anything in JAVA) * Installed based (there is A LOT of Java Software out there)

I can see modern languages for the JVM like KOTLIN or SCALA fulfilling the places where JAVA is cumbersome.

Having said all this, unlike what was real 10 years ago, I definitely see that right now there are more JOB offerings for engineers in other languages (JavaScript/Node, Typescript, Python, and maybe even GO).

[EDIT]: grammar.

Liked it very much. Some of them pretty obvious, some of them not.

Heartbreaking. I've been a long time user of DHCPD but (as I think many of us) never knew or think about all the people and hard work behind it. Thanks for everything.

OP could have added Andy’s need to remind everybody he attended Cornell as another proof of his point.

Facebook's extremely popular instant messaging service for mobile phones is down right now. WhatsApp official status twitter account (https://twitter.com/wa_status) shows no activity since 2014. Twitter users are actively tweeting about it right now (https://twitter.com/search?q=whatsapp).

I could really use something like this. It's a recurring problem I have: finding interesting podcast material to listen to while working out.

Podcast suggestions should remain on the front page longer than articles do in HN though. Since listening to a podcast is way more time consuming than reading an article.

Thanks for sharing!

I agree! that's why I included the other filters as well. A good podcast is still valuable a long time after creation/recording, unlike a news article..

Audiobooks work for me.

This is the first thing that came to my mind too.

Looks neat! Won't display metadata correctly on PosgreSQL 8.3 or earlier versions though. This is the error I'm getting: "column "typcategory" does not exist".

UPDATE: added 8.3 version number.

Thanks for the reply! It's using libpq 9.3 under the hood. I'll work on supporting earlier versions if it gets enough demands.

It'd be awesome to get 8.x support for working with quick Redshift queries. As is, there isn't a graphical interface to Redshift which is a bummer.
