I remind myself before every interview that we are here to know what the candidate knows and not what the candidate does not know. This advice from my lead a few years ago has completely changed the way I conduct myself, probe their background and ask questions. By letting the candidate speak about a topic, you will learn an awful lot about their depth in the subject. This will help you make your assessment about their ability to handle the current challenges.

How do you handle bullshit? A candidate (most) might be great at talking like he has experience, but in reality have some pretty huge lapses in basic knowledge. So many under qualified people apply 'just to see if they hire me'.

What do you consider a huge lapse in basic knowledge?

Knowledge is usually the easiest problem to fix. It’s a google search away. All the bad hires I’ve seen have had masters or phds and the problem has been poor work ethic, focus, and practical application of knowledge towards solving business problems. Interviews, in my opinion, can easily test for basic dev knowledge but should focus more on the way the candidate will conduct themself as an employee.

I resonate with another comment that the homepage looks crowded. This idea reminds me of woot.com. I would do something like that. When someone opens the homepage, I would show one product to grab their attention and have them browse other products by scrolling or through Menu bar. Also, what does the button "Roger that" suppose to do? It wasn't intuitive for me that it's a menu button. Finally, I think you should use the top left space above the logo for something important rather than leave it empty. It will be displayed on all screen sizes and can be used for Menu options or something else.

We did this last year in our research. We used Pitt Patt software instead of face.com. Here is the link: http://www.heinz.cmu.edu/~acquisti/face-recognition-study-FA...

You missed kn0thing :)

This seems to have some issues. I tried many different connections and none worked! I tried a direct connection as well. Apart from that, I suggest including a "text message" in the search bar to inform users what they can enter. I had a question - "Instead of entering a username, can I enter "Sales at Amazon" and will your system get my connections at Amazon?" - didn't know where to look for. Also a small change - Move logout link to top with FAQ, About as the linkedin alert masks it. Finally, consider providing cross connection through linkedin and facebook. That would be useful. Otherwise this would just be another implementation of Facebook connect.

Hey sorry to hear that you could not find any connection paths.

1. Can you tell me if the direct connection you were looking for, was it a facebook or linkedin connection? This is really surprising that you could not find a direct connection.. we'll definitely look into it.

2. Re. text in the search bar -we'll make it more clear. Right now, we just have 'name' search, and advanced search like 'company' search is on the cards in the near future.

3. Re. Logout link - we'll look into that as well.

4. Cross connections - actually, cross connection paths are already there, unfortunately we could not find one for you.. hope to get there soon!

Do give it a try after a while, and tell us if your experience is any diff. from now! And thanks for checking it out.

We have fixed the bug because of which you were not able to see your direct connections on Hachi. Do check it out, and let us know in case it's still not working for you!

Also, I could not find a link to delete my account. I think that's important.

Yes, that's a valid request, and we'll work on it. For now - if you want, you can revoke access by going to Facebook Privacy settings --> Apps & Websites ---> there you can revoke access.

As a movie buff, I liked your website. I have already started using it. However, I would love to see following features: 1. List View (I have seen about 200 in the current list of movies. Thumbnail view means I have to scroll a lot) 2. Download my list of movies. 3. Facebook app (You have already integrated with Facebook connect)
