GDP is a number. I have relatives in China, and I visit China every year. I would say the average people in China live a better life than average Americans do here, and it's still constantly improving. Then, why don't I go back to China? My kids are getting education here, and they can not catch up back in China.
Google envies the huge amount of data Baidu enjoys. In this AI/ML age, data is gold. China is the biggest gold mining field. If I were China government, I would block Google for its bluff made/called in 2010.
The US government probably worries that Huawei could remotely blew the phone battery should US ever goes into a trade war with China, which is emergent ...
That's the only sense I can make out of this news. I would dump my Huawei if US government can expense it for me. It's hard to find such a high quality phone. [1]
Let them keep their ignorance. I've decided to give up educating them for two reasons:
1) It's impossible for them to realize that China is a much better place than what western media depicts. It's even better than most western countries nowadays.
2) It's for China's benefits to keep them in thinking China still what China was 100 years ago.
Don't wake up them, let them live in their dreams.
Polluted air, polluted water, polluted food, hidden poverty, blah, blah, ... and yet China's life expectancy is only 3 year shorter than America's (76 vs 79), and China's population is 4 times as bigger as America's. I will have to say, good job Chinese government!
