because they require github account to submit their case, while i found non-new github accounts though

+) anyways it's weird that they don't even had a github account o,o

Not so sure though, I was just reading the case right now, there's this dude studying the French Revolution -> doesn't sound like an IT/computer person at all, so no Github account makes sense

Davinci Resolve has been great product for both free and paid version but atm I'm not using it since they require nvidia graphics(CUDA) for linux usage, unfortunately

Maybe there's a way to get it working with ZLUDA?

i like this website, it shows documentation when hovering the code while i see similar stuffs really rare in web blog areas

I believe you can thank Verso for that:

I want to get background of gabe throwing money to flatpak, no any mention in this article

Steam offers an distro-independent runtime for native Linux games' distribution, which is based on Flatpak [1]

[1] https://gitlab.steamos.cloud/steamrt/steam-runtime-tools/-/b...

IIRC they aren't based on Flatpak, they existed even before Flatpak gained any traction. I actually do think Steam changed a few things in pressure-vessel to be more similar to Flatpak, but they mostly evolved independently.

The main reason I think they are pouring money into Flatpak is because that is the main way to install applications on SteamOS (that aren't games shipped via Steam).

It’s not based on Flatpak, it’s based on the same technology of flatpak, which is linux containers/namespaces.

It’s clickbait at best, if not ragebait.

This comment needs to be upvoted - the author supports their argument using as evidence a fact I cannot find anywhere on the net.

It's in their title, it's in their conclusion, but it seems to be hallucinated.

Well, it sounds pretty funny. What can be said factually is that the Steam Deck is based on an immutable distro like Bazzite, which is a lot more important than flatpaks themselves. Flats are just a popular way to get apps on such a setup. I see a lot of resistance to them in general, not just in specific individuals or communities on the web, and they're actually pretty solid and do see lots of investment from other companies. SteamOS itself being an immutable distro, Gabe is indeed at least indirectly shitting his yacht money into them.

Yeah, but shitting and yachts, brah!

curious is this just software qemu(not sure what word exactly was) instead of virtualization acceleration, probably more overheads?

Yes, under How It Works:

> libqemu-system-aarch64.so (QEMU TCG, no KVM)

TCG means software emulation

I thought why is qemu used here? Why not use linux native namespaces and cgroups.

Permissions. Isolation.

so, like namespaces and cgroups?

Android kernel has the relevant kernel parameters disabled. It is entirely possible to run containers directly on android, but it requires enabled the relevant parameter (iirc no recompilation need, just a cmdline change). But this of course requires root.

Itbsays it doesnt use kvm, so i thinj that meens no accel.

FWIW, Zulip is in GSoC this year, so whoever interested in here, i encourage to participate it yea

fortnite linux yet?

API

it uses own chip under the hood, see accelerator mentioned in spec.
