It was in a product space I liked and they offered me lots and lots of delicious money

Shelters only have so many beds, not to mention many are already overcrowded and rife with violence

>Monopoly Guy

His name is Rich Uncle Pennybags

I would argue that he is more commonly known as Monopoly Guy - as this is the first I've heard "Rich Uncle Pennybags", and I first played Monopoly ~30 years ago.

you can be the citation on the wiki article! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rich_Uncle_Pennybags

What are you building?

Oh wow when did you do this? Is it something that's still going on?

The name Sylvia Beach sounded familiar. There's a library-themed hotel in Newport, Oregon named after her, http://www.sylviabeachhotel.com/

I spent a night there before beginning a cross-country trip over US Route 20. Each room has a theme, packed with books. The whole place is packed with books. Many of the guests spend all day reading.

I've been working professionally as an engineer for almost 5 years, the past two in dedicated DevOps / SRE capacities. At my current firm, which is a large global company, I make 150k/yr + variable bonus (usually ~%20).

This is in NYC. I kind of hate the work, though. Would much prefer to go back to a pure programming role as I miss the problem solving and analytical aspect of coding. SRE is a lot of plumbing and then twiddling config files or sitting on the line with cloud support. But it is cool to bring up huge clusters at the click of a button.

It is basically a way to make it easier for entrepreneurs to do business in the Eurozone and take advantage of Estonia's generous corporate tax structure. It's mostly a legal / financial device, you can't use it for travel or citizenship purposes.

Are there any real benefits for citizens of other European nations?

For example, I run a small B2B company in the UK - would there be any benefits to incorporating in Estonia?

0% tax on retained earnings.

OK, I can see how that would be a big draw for some companies. Doesn't help me personally though, since I take everything out.

Tim Mackintosh-Smith's translation is eminently readable with comprehensive notes - https://www.amazon.com/Travels-Battutah-Macmillan-Collectors...

Does this mean Promise is paying the cash bail for those awaiting trial? Or is there a lower rate negotiated? What are the qualifications for release (i.e. who gets chosen to get their bail paid over someone else)?

Promise would not pay the cash bail. The goal would be that no bail is paid at all. We would work with the government to agree to release certain individuals back into the community without having to post bail. Promise would then remind them of their obligations so that they stay on track with any court mandated obligations and refer them to services based on the needs of each participant. As to who would be eligible-that would depend on the agreement with each county that we work with.

or...you could read something written by an actual black person?
