That kind of hate is why we struggle to keep good open source maintainers. Let’s try to be kind to people who gift their time and talent to the world, please.
I'm assuming in good faith you're talking about the hatemail Don receiveid.
I agree. As an open source software enjoyer, I know that unless specified otherwise (and arguably even then), there are exactly _zero_ contractual and/or legal obligations on the part of the maintainer. I'm happy to benefit from battle-tested code, and I'm even happier when I can contribute back to it, for the benefit of all. This is the spirit of open source. Being purposefully obtuse to open source maintainers of such important piece of software is bad for everyone involved.
Also, he's taken a political stance in the past, which turns him into a magnet for certain discussions.
> The most popular claim is the memory consumption, which to be fair has been decreasing over the last decade, but my main complaint (as I usually drive a 64GB RAM MacBook Pro) is the lack of visual consistency and lack of keyboard-driven workflows.
Lucky you. I avoid electron apps because I'm limping along with 16gb.

Personally, I don’t really care which flavour of webwrapper this is. If it ain’t native, I ain’t bothering. Web pages belong in the browser, not in a browser-container pretending to be something it is not—an actual app.
You've never seen pelicans riding bicycles either so maybe these are just representations of those specific subgroups of pelicans which are capable of riding them. Normal pelicans would not feel the need to ride bikes since they can fly, these special pelicans mostly seem to lack the equipment needed to do that which might be part of the reason they evolved to ride two-wheeled pedal-propelled vehicles.
> why does it have to be suspicious. Its a services offering that we have.
It's difficult to read good intent in the original comment when the text of the comment says "these guys" as if the account (your account) is endorsing the service rather than representing itself as the provider of the service.
Honestly, it might just be worth deleting and trying again, this time with an honest blurb from your account about the mission rather than pretending to endorse your own product.
