I don't know if that is possible, but you can mute individual web pages (seemingly based on domain name) and they will stay muted until you say otherwise. Works for me pretty well.
The key difference for me was the way they create the names of the links in the popup. In Chrome you need to enter more or less random letters, while in vimperator you can write the link name. The difference in usability was HUGE for me and made me switch to FF for a brief moment from using Chrome since its release day.
Sorry for off topic, just a heads up for the maintainers of haxe.org. Several links in the footer, inside 'Learn Haxe' section are broken. They point to '/http...'.
That's true. I find that annoying as well. It wasn't immediately clear to me that this page was a blog though. They do have a link to the homepage in the menu at least.
