Me personally I use it to upload files (from my phone or sometimes other random devices) to a folder I call "void". "void" can be used by everyone to upload something but only I can read it. I also have some public pics, vids and music files here and there. It's so convenient & easy to handle, honestly a better alternative to other cloud providers in some ways in my opinion.
I've been using it ever since it got really popular last july; it's super duper convenient. Especially when I am on a different device (work laptop; or something else, just anything), Whenever I need to upload my data somewhere to access it later I just upload it to my configured folder (which only admins can read; anonyms can only write). I also have some other folders publically visible for everyone with some pics & vids; (unreleased) music here and there
My small SaaS app has been DDoSed a handful of times, always accompanied by an email asking for a ransom in the form of bitcoin.
The first time we switched to Cloudflare which saved us. Even with Cloudflare, the DDoS attempts are still damaging (the site goes down, we use Cloudflare to block the endpoints they're targeting, they change endpoints, etc.) but manageable. Without Cloudflare or something like it, I think it's possible that we'd be out of business.
Now tell me why the whole article has been written by AI? It's literally AI slop itself

I wrote the article personally, before LLMs were a thing. And you have git history of changes as our entire documentation is open source. People usualy cite it as a well written page.
Also, I think many people use the term "slop" and "AI was involved" interchangeably, but to me, they're not synonymous. To me, writing blog posts with the help of AI is fine (grammar checks, structural help etc.) while auto-generated content generation w/o human oversight is not.
The negated sentence structure "X isn't just Y -- it's Z" directly followed by a list of 3 or 4 bullet points. Maybe the bullet points are a heavy reach but nobody can tell me otherwise of the former.
I agree on your first part! The whole article does read like slop tho; it's more like "Human was involved" here
It's related to nostalgia. If you have lived at the time where dithering was used, you will have an emotional response to it. For example, if you played games as a child with dithering, then playing The Return of the Obra Dinn, which was mentioned in other thread, will take you back to a happy place.
And even if you did not live at that time, exposure to that distinct visual style will also start having meaning to you. Like how an exposed brick interior wall has a distinct aesthetic, and carries connotations of an industrial space.
