Ah, I love rustdesk. I didn't know it was Flutter based. Only minor complaint about Rustdesk is that when you send the official link to people, they are frightened by a big scary "Scammer" alert[1]. To you and me, we immediately understand its actual purpose, but to non technical folks they hesitate to click it. I've seen this too many times.
Gross, US protectionism of monopolies, while they can't compete and when the developing world creates a good alternative, they'll be sanctioned for it's use... this can't be a more corrupt administration.
I can't use Claude Code because it runs out of memory during installation. I'm running my development environment inside a VM for sandboxing and I'm unwilling to allocate more RAM to it. What you're suggesting would basically lock me out of agentic coding or into getting a computer with 64GB RAM to deal with the perpetual memory leaks Claude Code is famous for.
"How would less competition make the world better?" In the context of Umbrella Corp and bayer. Both undoubtedly bad, but one so evil it is irredeemable.
Hmm. I wonder how openAI, in the direction it was taken under Altmans leadership, is a fundamentally and deeply rooted evil thing to allow to exist. It really boggles the brain.
It's like saying "Therapy needs competition, this is why we're allowing PsychoTheRapist to continue practicing, to prevent psychotherapist's from getting to cocky"
Which is odd because the two seem to have fundamentally different purposes with immediate and long-term impacts of the former being unambiguously negative
Besides, strangling OAI in it's cot, as the natural order of things would be, wouldn't get rid of competition. Competition is fierce via Chinese and European offerings.
Truckers that refill stations use physical sticks to measure tanks, there is already a robust analog solution. This is a nothing burger sent by our hawkish US government looking to further villainize Iran.
Fuel is measured as it is sold, so presumably this is the primary system for knowing when they will need a refill.
I would guess the delivery driver dips the tank as a failsafe, because spilling fuel is a Big Deal - whether it's an overflow or perhaps even just filling a tank that is leaking.
(I do agree with GP's point about the administration's need to villainize Iran to maintain whatever support they can for the Epstein war though)
