It's being shoved down our throats at work, which is really annoying. Beyond being able to search for documents, there is little utility beyond what a local <1B param LLM gives me.
Even the "productivity" suggestions in teams are ridiculous - one of them is "roast me by my calendar"...wtf is that? How is that related to productivity at all?
I feel like existing models and platforms still have a bit of work to do to make this easy for everyone, but overall I agree that this is the direction things are headed. I have very minimal programming experience, but I was able to put together a personal project manager that I'm actually using in my personal life and at work.
The thing that blew me away was that this took ~2 hours total time and I didn't touch the code at all - this was 100% done using Cursor. Similarly, I've been building other tools that I use at work and my team is starting to roll them into our standard workflows because they work well.
There are many instances where I struggle to get it to make what I want, but overall I've been really impressed by how much it has helped me and by how easy it has been to start building my own personal software.

I also want a button next to (to the left) of the Projects dropdown menu that is a + that I can click to create a new project. I also want the design to be minimal, modern, and sleek. Can you please help me craft a prompt to give to Cursor's Composer? Again, this should result in an tool that I can run locally and bookmark, and even set to my default page whenever I open the browser or a new window"
- And then I had to modify the last paragraph to avoid using nodeJS (unable to install it for irrelevant reasons):

Ensure it can be bookmarked or set as the default homepage. this was good, but I ran into issues because cursor wanted to use react, which requires node JS and my admins don't give us permissions to install certain things like node JS. Can you modify the instructions? When I say I want it to be minimal, modern, and sleek, I'm specifically referring to the design. Everything else should be made as simple as possible."
- This got me most of the way there, then there was just some more back and forth with Cursor's composer and chat to refine things and get to where I wanted it to be. These were fairly simple requests like adding edit abilities, modifying colors, adding click-through functions on the home-page, etc.
