A friend of mine just today bought me a pack of 3 by 5 notecards and a ball point pen.
It's not like I don't know what my priorities are, but it's intractible to hold on to them all mentally. Writing them down means that I can, temporarily, forget some of them.
2. In David Allen's book "Getting Things Done" there is whole chapter or more which is i think about the problem you metioned (he names this "open loops" - problems you must solve but don't want to have it constantly in your mind but manage them in some way using external memory to not clutter mind and not forget them).
Probably you heard about this book because it's popular but i think it's worth mentioning, it's the case when popularity comes with reason before not after ;)
URL aggregators online/offline are also good for keeping resources in one place, you can use tags for fast search.
It's imporant to find one which can export data to "human format" to convert it later fe. when service is going to be shutdown or you need other functions.
Great initiative, it would be nice to have some more info on your site who you (they) are. I think many people aren`t going to download and execute data from unknown person/organisation.

My real name is on the PDF and you can find a lot of information on me on Internet... Previous talks, where I worked... As far as I know, the PDF aren't backdoored (I'm also working on a HTML version), you can open in Google docs if you're not sure. For the ISO, I wouldn't waste a bug allowing to break out of VMWARE/Virtual Machine/...

Before changing the site to a multiple page site, I was averaging 1.2 pages/visit. Again with a 1 page site, but I would develop on the server so I figured GA was picking that up. Since changing to a multiple page site my pages/vist is 2.55 and my average time on site has increased by like 20 seconds, which seems a lot. Maybe people are on 56k, haha.
I`ve checked how it works with "Real-Time" option of the Google Analytics. When i closed a tab Google Analytics knew that i stopped reading the page (the on-line user counter was updated -1). Maybe it works different with a standard report (i didn`t read the code), but maybe not? They could use javascript browser events detection and i don`t think such a bug would remain unseen.
Open Source is designed for re-use, you also can give something back. It could be a code, documentation or support for community in any valuable means.
Most of the game programmers i know started early, and are self-learners, but it shouldn`t discourage you. You could start as a tester or level developer and slowly get better. Good luck!
