> Nine Sols was a way easier game

For me it was the other way around. In Nine Sols I got immediately stuck in the boss (mini-boss?) fight against two enemies and the flying gal.

Hollow Knight was difficult at times (Coliseum of Fools, Radiance) but it never felt unfair. Some fights (Mantis Lords, Grimm) are among the best times I've had playing a game

An application of the Poisson distribution (1946)

Famously used by Thomas Pynchon in Gravity's Rainbow. The notion of obtaining a distribution of random rocket attacks blew my young mind and prompted a life-long interest in the sturdy of statistics.

Amazing list by Nabokov, and "strong opinions" indeed

It reminded me of Southland Tales.

Not a bad thing

Something like 8 years ago I used this tutorial to get unlimited food at the uni vending machine. Good times.

THIS is the best resource on dithering I've read (except maybe some gritty details in forum posts by the author of Obra Dinn)
